The Speaker of the Kaduna State
House of Assembly, Alhaji Mu’azu Gangara, was on Tuesday impeached by 19
out of the 34 members of the Assembly.
The 19 members removed Gangara during a sitting which both the speaker and his deputy, Mr Dogara Matoh, did not attend.
The lawmakers, led by a Peoples Democratic Party member, representing Makera State Constituency, Mr. Phelimon Gidanmana,, also appointed Alhaji Shehu Tahir (PDP-Giwa West), as the new Speaker.
Gangara survived an impeachment bid in August, but was given a 30-day ultimatum by the lawmakers to improve on his style of leadership or be kicked out of office.
