Undercover police at a Wheatbelt pub saw a skimpy barmaid appear
completely naked, leading to the licensee to get a $3000 fine for her
"lewd" and "immodest" behaviour.
The liquor enforcement division
found the barmaid at the Bedford Arms in Brookton was not wearing a bra
top and her nipples were covered only with nipple tassels or "pasties"
when it visited in November last year.
Several times she removed
either one of the pasties to reveal her nipples. As the night
progressed, she was seen completely naked.
When uniformed local
police revisited the premises in February, they saw another barmaid
serving patrons while not wearing any clothing on her upper body.
Police told the Liquor Commission "she rapidly fled the bar area once she became aware of the police presence".
CCTV
showed the sole director of the company holding the liquor licence,
Gregory William Marr, present earlier when the barmaid collected money
placed in a glass jug.
"This was identical to the technique
observed in November when touting patrons for extra money to undress
beyond the decency standards," police said.
The hotel is subject to an entertainment condition prohibiting the
licensee, manager or staff from being immodestly dressed. This includes
bare breasts and buttocks or using see-through material, nipple stickers
or G-strings.
Police also saw Mr Marr serve two visibly drunk patrons with more alcohol.
Mr
Marr did not contest the November incident but said his instructions to
the barmaids employed through an entertainment agency before the
February visit were to "keep it clean, keep it legal".
In a
decision this week, the Liquor Commission fined the hotel $3000 and
ordered Mr Marr to complete the full course in licensed premises
management.
