Buhari declares 270 cattle, mud houses, N30m, others • Osinbajo worth $900,000, N94m and more

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday made public details of their assets, which had been declared to the Code of Conduct Bureau.
According a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President has about N30m in his only bank account with the Union Bank Plc, while the Vice President has a balance of N94m, $900,000 and 19,000 pounds in his bank accounts.
Shehu’s statement said the President had shares in Berger Paints, Skye Bank and Union Bank and a total of seven houses, comprising two mud and a standard house in Daura, his hometown; two homes in Kaduna, one in Kano and one in Abuja.

Nigeria President-Elect Buhari rejects Rolls Royce in London


President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, currently on a private visit to England, on Friday turned down the use of a Rolls Royce made available for him by the Nigerian High Commission in London.
Buhari shocked officials of the High Commission when, on landing at the Heathrow Airport, he declined to make use of  the  Rolls Royce and other facilities offered him.

Parents of missing Chibok girls accuse Vice Principal of being involved in their kidnap


Parents of the missing Chibok girls are now accusing the vice principal (academic) of the school in Borno where the teenage girls were kidnapped in 2014 of being somewhat involved in their kidnap


According to a report on Sahara Reporters, the parents claimed that the role of the vice principal Yerima Banjiri was questionable. They leveled the allegations while speaking to a SR correspondent

One of the abducted girls mother, Mariam Abubakar, said the Vice Principal had told the school girls that any one of them who failed to sleep in the school the night of the abduction would be expelled

Orubebe apologizes for his behaviour at collation centre yesterday, says he regrets it

Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Elder Godsday Orubebe has apologised for his behaviour at the collation centre in Abuja yesterday morning. Speaking with reporters last night, the PDP party agent, who held up proceedings and used abusive words on Jega, said he regretted his action and asked Nigerian to forgive his behaviour.

Breaking news: Buhari finally takes Benue

All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has finally defeated President Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential election results in Benue State.
He got a convincing win with over 70,000 extra votes after the long-awaited results for Makurdi, the state capital, came in around 2am on Tuesday.
Buhari polled 38,685 votes in Makurdi to bring is overall total votes in the 23 local government areas of the state to 373,961.

PDP Governors who loses there bid to become senators

Three Peoples Democratic Party governors have lost their senatorial bid. The governors are Isa Yuguda (Bauchi); Gabriel Suswam (Benue) and Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu.
In Anambra state also, a former governor, Chris Ngigie, who represents Anambra-Central, lost his seat.
In Kogi State, the senator representing Kogi-West, Smart Adeyemi, lost to former House of Representatives member, Dino Melaye of the All Progressives Congress
In Benue, Suswam was defeated by incumbent Senator, Chief Barnabas Gemade, in the race for the Benue North-East seat.

Jonathan, wife planning to kill me –Father Mbaka

Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, were planning to kill him over his criticism of the Federal Government and his opposition to the President’s re-election.
Mbaka, in a new video currently trending on YouTube, made the allegation during a sermon he delivered in his church.
The congregation erupted in a howl when Mbaka said, “President Jonathan and his wife are planning to kill me.”
The Roman Catholic Priest, whose recent comments on the general elections generated ripples, said the plan to assassinate him showed that the President no longer had the fear of God.

Senators In Secret Meeting To Stop Obanikoro

Never again, we can't have a man who lacks maturity like Musiliu Obanikoro as minister. That is the position of most APC lawmakers, Senators in particular, during their secret meeting to stop him.

The Senate had a rowdy executive session for about two hours on Wednesday as a result of attempt by Senate President David Mark to convince them to give Obanikoro an easy passage, in accordance to the tradition of the senate in the screening of former senators nominated for appointment as ministers.
A source said, “The Senate President pleaded with us to respect the tradition of the senate by allowing Obanikoro and two other former senators, who would be appearing before us for screening to just take a bow and leave.
