Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi, has warned that there is no taking the foot off the pedal as the Eagles prepare for the semi-final against Ghana at the African Nations Championship on Wednesday.
The Eagles have been installed as tournament’s favourites after dispatching hosts, South Africa in Group A’s final game and overcoming a defensive Moroccan side 4-3 last Saturday in the quarter final but Keshi insists
Wednesday’s semi final would be tougher.
‘‘If every team thinks you are the favourites then you foresee problem especially from the semi-final,’’ Keshi told Tribunesport.
‘‘From the training sessions to the match situation, we have to work harder, we came here to enjoy ourselves as first-timers but as we progress we learn more and more, the higher you go, the tougher it becomes. I can see that the boys mean business.’’
Ghana beat 2009 champions DR Congo 1-0 in their quarter-final clash on Sunday in Bloemfontein.
