According to unconfirmed reports from Complex, the 36-year-old rapper is planning to postpone the gigs, as he's been unable to replace a custom-built 60ft LED screen which was damaged in transit on October 31.

However tickets are still on sale and the shows have not been labelled as postponed on Kanye's official website. In all the confusion fans have taken to the venue's site to try and work out what's going on.

"Just called the united center its been postponed, no date yet," writes Angie Woo on the venue United Center's comment section.

Another hopeful ticket buyer adds that he visited the Windy City venue to ask for clarification, apparently managing to get a ticket and some clarification on what's going on with the 'Yeezus tour.

"I bought my tix today from the box office around 4 and the rep said its 90% likely postponed and said the show was far from being sold out which could be the real reason of the delay," they said.

The first concert Kanye postponed was his Halloween night gig when a full statement was issued by his record label Def Jam.

"On the road to Vancouver, a truck carrying The Yeezus Tour’s custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen was in an accident that damaged the gear beyond repair," read the statement. "This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA.

"As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and The Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be re-engineered and refabricated," it continues.

Early reviews of the tour cited the staging of the show as vital to its success, with it being described as "technically breathtaking" by the New Yorker and Entertainment Weekly writing that "he pushes the envelope aesthetically".

The rapper is unwilling to comprimise on the design elements of the tour and the statement seemed to suggest that Kanye will not resume performing until the screen is replaced, stating: "Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans."

Kanye has been keeping a relatively low profile since postponing dates, but has been spotted out and about in his LA where he currently lives with fiancee Kim Kardashian and their daughter North.

Kanye has even been sporting 'Yeezus' merchandise while shopping in Beverly Hills. The 'Yeezus Tour' with Kendrick Lamar is his first solo live tour in five years.
