The 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) usually conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for students applying for first degree studies in Nigerian universities will include a test on the reading culture of applicants.
A statement from JAMB Friday in Abuja to announce the early roll out

appropriate choice of subjects, candidates will equally be tested on two
general subjects to ascertain their levels of appreciation for reading.
"The public is also urged to note that candidates will be tested on two
general books to enhance their reading culture irrespective of their
choice of course of study.
The books are; The Successor by Jerry Agada and the Potter's Wheel by
Chukwuemeka Ike," the statement from the head public relations of JAMB,
Fabian Benjamin stated.
He noted that the board was determined to provide access to candidates
desirous of tertiary education and has begun the sale of application
documents into the nation's tertiary institutions.

slated for April 2014.
According to him, the two modes of tests hitherto conducted by JAMB;
