Eminem has revealed that the reason behind the delay of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was down to his own laziness.
The Monster rapper explained to French radio station NRJ why fans had to wait three long years for his new LP, stating: “It's basically because I'm lazy that it took so long!
“I did the Recovery album then I started working on some side projects for Shady Records, the label."
He went on to clarify: "I did some producing on a Yela Wolf album and the Slaughterhouse album. I did a collaboration album with Royce Da 5'9 called Bad Meets Evil. In the middle of all that, I was recording for this album.”
While Em has been speaking about the release of his latest album, the rapper's manager Paul Rosenberg has been opening up to Billboard about the 41-year-old's previous battle with drug addiction.
Rosenberg revealed: “He’s five years sober, so things are a lot different. But it’s not as different now as it was when he first went into recovery.
“He came out of this like horrible spell and he just wasn’t himself. But then as I got to know him again as he is now. I think his art’s a lot better and we have a lot more fun doing it.”
The MMLP2 saw Eminem score his seventh consecutive UK No.1 album, equalling the chart success of The Beatles.
