Woman Electrocuted After Fall From Train Roof

A woman is in a serious but stable condition after falling from the roof of a freight train and getting shocked by electric cables at Hackney Wick station.

British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the station just after 11pm last night.
"It is believed that the woman fell from the roof of a train and then came into contact with electricity from the overhead power lines," a British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said.

"Medics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and the woman was taken to Royal London Hospital with burns injuries.
"Officers are now working to establish how she came to be on the train."
Witnesses claimed that the woman appeared drunk and climbed to the top of the carriage while in heels. They also described how they heard a huge bang as she touch the electric cables.
