Josip Drmic Will Surely Join Arsenal Claims Ex German Pro

At the weekend, news frittered in that Arsenal had signed Bundesliga’s young striker Josip Drmic. The news was revealed by Lothar Matthaus, he even claimed the player’s wife was already house-hunting in London but in a swift reaction, the player moved to dismiss the rumour claiming nothing was done yet though he
confirmed his likeness for Arsenal which meant he was open to a move if one materialized. But Matthaus won’t be undone and has come out firing again that his report was indeed true and even quoted the transfer fee.
Drmic goes to Arsenal for the £8m transfer fee. Said the ex German international
[It is a] fact: A woman whose name I know is looking for an apartment for him in London.
I have been right about Lewandowski and [Adrian] Ramos. I will be proved right again in the end.
Matthaus seems so sure about his prediction that he is putting his credibility on the line. Would he be three times lucky or would he court enemies at the Emirates for raising and dashing their hopes? Time will tell.
But in a swift counter denial, Drmic’s consultant Volker Struth fired back saying,
This speculation is totally far-fetched.
It’s hard to know what to make of this, especially Matthaus’ assertion that the fee is £8m when the player has a release clause of €5m.
So who is lying and who is telling the truth? Matthaus must know something for him to be sounding so sure but why the vehement and swift denial from Drmic’s camp? This could be Arsenal’s way of keeping transfer card close to their chest. I won’t be surprised if he becomes Wenger’s first signing of the summer but for now, it remains a mystery.
I tend to agree with Wenger if he doesn’t want to break the news just yet. Arsenal’s season isn’t over and the last thing they need is transfer speculation leading to distraction. We are stuck with Giroud for the remainder of the season, he might not be so dependable and that’s the main reason why we cannot afford to have him unsettled. Let them concentrate until the end of the season and hopefully after sealing the FA Cup, we can start talking about transfers. Until then let the war of
truth and falsehood continue between Matthaus and Drmic’s camp.
