Teacher gives birth - in her own classroom

 Mother Diane Krish-Veeramany is taken to hospital after giving birth in her classroom [ARCHANT]

Diane Krish-Veeramany, 30, went into labour a week before she was due while working at Manford Primary School, in Chigwell, Essex.
At first she thought she might have time for her husband to collect her from the school.

But baby Jonah was in no mood for waiting and, shortly afterwards, he arrived in the classroom with three colleagues acting as midwives.
They had to rush round the school collecting towels and other equipment to help with the delivery.
Jonah was born as staff were on the phone to Diane's husband Vijaye, the ambulance service and a nearby hospital.

We now joke that he was late for his first day at school as he was born after the bell

As she held her new 9lb son, the proud mother said: "I intended to work until the week before, but I didn't dream I would have to have my baby in a classroom. Everyone was so supportive and just acted on instinct.
"We now joke that he was late for his first day at school as he was born after the bell.
"The school have named the room he was born in after him - it's now called Jonah's Room."
After the first pangs of labour, Mrs Krish-Veeramany called for her husband but within 20 minutes, their young son had arrived.
Luckily teaching assistants Dita Gojnovci, Chris Sword and Sam Mustafa were on hand to help.
Afterwards Mrs Krish-Veeramany was taken by paramedics to Queen's Hospital, in Romford, and later allowed to take Jonah home.
