knocked over by the strong winds caused by the storm.
It is believed the tree hit a gas main and caused an explosion in Bath Road in Hounslow, West London.
The Metropolitan Police has now said a man has been found dead inside a house at the scene.
One woman has been taken to hospital and another woman is still unaccounted for.
It now means three people have been confirmed dead following the storm. A 14-year-old boy is still missing, feared dead.
Rajiv Parmar, who lives close to the scene in Hounslow, said: "I was woken up because there was a really loud explosion. It was a really, really loud bang.
"I got my shoes on and went outside to look - the whole house had just collapsed. It was three houses, but it was such a mess you couldn't tell which was which."
Rajiv, an actor, saw the woman leave her home. "Her face was covered in blood, but she seemed okay - she could walk."
As well as the three properties that have been destroyed, another two have been damaged by the explosion.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: "Urban search and rescue crews are working to make the structure safe and ensure any fires are put out."
Twelve people - including Rajiv and his family - have been evacuated from the surrounding area "as a precaution", and a dog was rescued from one of the houses.
The 28-year-old said: "Police knocked on our door and told us to evacuate - I'm now at my uncle's house in Hanworth.
"They don't know the severity of the damage to the gas line. They don't know how badly it's going to affect other houses.
"I don't know what's going on, when we're allowed back in or how we're going to be told what's happening."
