'It's Over For Now': The Jonas Brothers Officially Announce split

The Jonas Brothers have broken thousands of hearts around the world after officially announcing they have split up following several weeks of speculation about a “deep rift” within the band.

Speculation has been rife that the band, consisting of Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25, were on the verge of a split after cancelling their North American tour earlier this month with their rep admitting that they were in disagreement about

While fans had been hoping the brothers would patch up their feud, Kevin has now delivered the news that they are no longer together. Eldest brother Kevin told People magazine: “It's over for now,” while Joe added: “It was a unanimous decision.”

Nick went on to hint that it's not necessarily the end on a permanent basis and the heartthrobs could reunite in the future.

“It's really hard to say 'forever.' We're closing a chapter, for sure,” Nick said. The band, whose hits include 'Pom Poms,' 'Year 3000,' 'Burnin' Up' and 'Tonight,' had a meeting on October 3 where they discussed what was due to be their upcoming fifth album, 'V,' and the type of songs they would feature on the record but they are said to have gotten into an argument which resulted in them cutting off contact with one another.

Nick admits that he wasn't happy with the talks, telling the publication: “I was feeling kind of trapped. I needed to share my heart with my brothers.”

The trio had been due to embark on their US and Canadian tour just a day before they were due to hit the stage on October 11 to kick off the 19-date jaunt but announced it had been scrapped last minute.

A source told The Hollywood Reporter: “Once they realised they couldn't agree on music, it became a question of, 'Why would we go out on tour right now?' Their thought process was to get everything straight in terms of the creative. It was not a small thing [to call off the tour]."

Their spokesman Jesse Derris also told People magazine: “There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big a disagreement over their music direction.”
