Chairman of Premier League clubs,
Barrister Isaac Danladi has sympathised with the four Premier League
clubs that have been relegated and asked them not to give up the
struggle.
At the end of the 2012-2013 season, four clubs, ABS, Kwara United, 3SC and Wikki Tourists were relegated to the National League.
Speaking to Daily Trust on arrival from
Nairobi, Kenya where he had gone to
attend a course on sports administration, the chairman of Nasarawa
United FC said the four relegated clubs would be missed when the new
season commences.Speaking to Daily Trust on arrival from
He said relegation is not a death sentence so the clubs should get over it and begin to prepare for life in the lower division.
Danladi added that the mark of a great man is he who falls, gets up, cleans his backside and keeps going again so the clubs should know that they stand a chance of returning to the premier league, if they work hard.
“I want to sympathise with the four relegated clubs. They are going to be missed because we all enjoyed the contributions they made to the league last season.
“Although they are down at the moment, it is not the end for them. If they work hard, they will soon be back to the top flight. Clubs like El-kanemi Warriors, Akwa United and my club were once relegated”, he noted.
Danladi also congratulated the four newly promoted National League clubs expressing hope that they would justify their promotion when the new NPL season kicks off.
He said they must brace up because life in the Premier League is different from what they faced in the lower division.
“I congratulate Giwa FC, FC Taraba, Abia Warriors and Crown FC. It is my hope that when the new season commences, they would all justify their promotion to the Premier League”, he stated.
