Boyfriend kills girl; eats her heart, lungs, brain

A convicted Indiana killer out on bail allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's house and stabbed her to death — before eating her heart, lungs and brain.

Joseph Oberhansley, 33, is accused of trying to force his way into 46-year-old Tammy Jo Blanton's Jeffersonville home on Thursday.

Police had been called during the early hours of Thursday morning following reports her former boyfriend Joseph Oberhansley was trying to get in.

After speaking to him police say he left quietly.

But he then allegedly returned to the home to carry out the brutal crime, reports Mirror.

Officers arrived to check on Blanton at 10 am after concerned colleagues dialed 911 because she hadn't shown up for work.

The police found her body in the bath.

He has since been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and breaking and entering.

She had fatal injuries to her head, neck and torso. A plate and cooking utensils were also found covered in blood and bone.

Her skull had apparently been crushed. Tissue from her body was found in a garbage can.

Oberhansley was still inside the property and he was restrained by officers.

Oberhansley has a previous conviction for manslaughter in Utah.
