Armed robber victims crushed to death by luxury bus in Abia state

Rivers State capital to Aba, ran into some hoodlums who blocked that section of the expressway.

The bandits ordered occupants of the bus out of the vehicle and after robbing them, also ordered their victims to lie face down on the tarred road to serve as human barrier that would force other vehicles to stop.

After a while, as the bus passengers were still lying on the road, a luxury bus said to be on top speed, approached the scene and in an attempt to escape from the robbers, rammed into the victims, crushing two of them instantly.

The third person’s corpse was found about a pole from the immediate scene, an indication that his body may have been entangled in one of the compartments of the luxury bus which dragged him to the point.

Immediately after the incident, our source said the robbers fled before police arrived.

The Abia State police command’s spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident although he denied the fact that the robbers used their victims as human barrier. He said investigation has begun while a manhunt for the robbers was in progress
