Nigeria, Cameroon to hold biennial sports competitions

Nigeria and Cameron have agreed to hold biennial games in alternate successions.
This was one of the outcome of a three day Technical Committee meeting of experts of both countries on Sport and Physical Education that held at the Velodrome of the National Stadium Abuja, from Monday 11th - 13th November, 2013.

The competition is to assist in grassroots sports development, unity and cultural integration, prepare teams from both countries for the All Africa Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games as well as other global sports engagements.
In a nine point communique issued at the end of the meeting and read by the Director - General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye both countries agreed to facilitate youth exchange programmes in sports by way of invitation to national teams, Schools Sports and other institutional and inter-Collegiate Sports.
They are also to support each other in the bidding and hosting of international Sports competitions in both countries.
Earlier, the Director General of the Commission had emphasised the long standing cordial relationship between both countries and the immense advantage that will accrue to both countries when the Protocol agreement becomes fully operational.
