Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has praised Stephen Keshi for the manner in which he has secured a World Cup spot for Nigeria's Super Eagle
Keshi: Hailed by his good friend
It is not the first time that Keshi has secured a World Cup berth for an African side, as the experienced tactician is the only coach in Africa to have sent two different national sides to the World Cup, the first being Togo in the 2006 finals.
Nigeria beat Ethiopia 4-1 on aggregate and became the first African country to confirm their participation at the Brazilian showpiece next year, and the 53-year-old is apparently enthused with his good friend's achievements.
"He's my friend, Keshi," the former Ghana international told Punch. "We have always been in touch and I am really happy for them. We have become very close friends and we talk on so many issues."
"Congratulations to them [Nigeria]. They have done well," the strategist concluded.
Ghana may well be the next side to confirm their place at the World Cup next year when they take on Egypt on Tuesday in the second leg of their qualification tie. The first leg went the way of the Black Stars who routed the Pharaohs 6-1 in Cairo last month.
