Pius earns Super Eagles call
FC Taraba goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius has earned a call-up to train with Nigeria ahead of the 2014 African Nations Championship.The shot-stopper joined the newly-promoted Nigerian Premier League side from Enugu Rangers at the end of the recently concluded campaign, and will now join up with the national team as they prepare for next year's South Africa showpiece.

Nine die in Gombe auto crash
The Federal Road Safety Commission on Monday confirmed that nine persons died while four sustained injuries in two separate car accidents in Gombe State.
The Sector Commander in Gombe state, Mr Kuteb Galadima, told newsmen in Gombe that the accidents occurred on Dec. 22 and early hours of Monday.
