President Jonathan sends ministerial-nominees list to Senate for last mintues rush

President Jonathan has sent a list of 8 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and approval. The list which was read to members of the senate this morning by Senate president, David Mark, had names such as Senator Musiliu Obanikoro from Lagos state, Mrs.Patricia Akwashiki (Nasarawa); Mrs. Hauwa’u Lawan (Jigawa) and Prof nicholas Akise Ada (Benue) in it. Others include Col. Augustine Akobundu retd. (Abia); Mr. Fidelis Nwankwo (Ebonyi); Mr. Kenneth Kobani (Rivers) and Senator Joel Ikenya (Taraba). No date has been fixed for the Senate screening of the nominees.

Incredible pics captures moment woman is rescued from sinking car

A woman is extremely lucky to be alive after her car drove off a rock wall of a car park and into a harbour and began sinking. The petrified woman was squashed up against the rear window as the front end of the car was submerging in the Waitemata Harbour in Auckland at 3pm on Tuesday. 

Fortunately witnesses called emergency services as quick-thinking policemen arrived and sprung straight into action by jumping into the water to save her, one attempting to break the glass with a baton, before the second officer broke the glass with a rock pulled from the water. See How our naira was devalued against dollar and Venezula's currency stable with only 9% fall

Should this rise of the exchange rate in Nigeria be a thing of worry? As at today, a pound to naira is now N311 while a dollar to naira is now N204. After a lot of research conducted, it looks like the naira has devalued by more than 25% in the last few years while as at yesterday the naira to a pound was 304. It devalued by 2.5%.

Man rapes woman at knife point while scared boyfriend watches


You know how they say the truth is stranger than fiction? Well, this is one of those true life strange stories. The man pictured above, 54 year old Tilfert Vaughn, was arrested this past Sunday Feb. 8th after breaking into the Phoenix home of a woman he’d seen at a bar and raped her at knifepoint while her boyfriend lay next to her 'frozen in fear,” according to a report by AZ Central
Police said the 27-year-old-woman woke up about 4 a.m. on Nov. 5 in her apartment near Glendale and 27th avenues when she noticed the bathroom light was on. After she asked her friend who was in there, reports show, the bathroom light shut off.
Police said the woman got out of bed and noticed someone behind the bathroom door, and when she opened the door further, she saw 54-year-old Tilfert D. Vaughn standing naked and holding a large serrated break knife, according to court records.

India Arie dissed on the Grammy red carpet by Lady Gaga's security

Ouch. Singer India Arie took to twitter some days ago to vent her frustation at being disrespected by Lady Gaga's security team on the Grammys red carpet. In the footage which has gone viral, India had tried to get Lady Gaga's attention by tapping her on the shoulder but was immediately swatted by the singer's security. Jonathan Postponed election, becuse of desperation and fear of losing.

"I don’t have a voter’s card, but if I did, I would vote for somebody I don’t like,” he said. 'I don’t like Buhari but Jonathan is not performing.”

Security operatives surround APC campaign spokesman’s residence

A combined team of security operatives have surrounded the residence of the Director of Media of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organization,  Mallam Garba Shehu.
The operatives who were armed to the teeth, took positions around ‎the house located at area 11, Garki Abuja, as early as 5:35am on Thursday morning.
One of Shehu’s colleagues  at the Atiku Media 0ffice, who pleaded anonymity, called The PUNCH at about 6am.
He said, “Security men have surrounded the residence of our director, Mallam Garba Shehu in Area 11. They came in several vehicles. I cannot make out which of the security services because it is still dark here.
“None of them has said anything about why they are laying siege at his house.”
