Ex-Gov Orji Uzor Kalu reportedly acquires most expensive private jet in Nigeria


According to Encomium mag, former Governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, now has the most expensive private jet in Nigeria. The jet, which is the latest edition of the Gulfstream G650, is said to be worth about N12billion and arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos on Thursday September 18th from New York.

Suleiman Abu Ghaith, a son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday in New York following his conviction on terrorism charges.
A Manhattan federal jury in March found the Kuwaiti-born 48-year-old guilty of conspiring to kill Americans, conspiring to provide material support for terrorists and providing such support.

$9.3m scandal: APC Reps storm out of House

Angry All Progressives Congress members in the House of Representatives staged a walkout   on Tuesday in protest against a failed debate on the controversial $9.3m   seized from two Nigerians and an Israeli by the South African authorities on September 5.
The two Nigerians and the Israeli   had flown the money in a Challenger 600 jet from Nigeria to the Lanseria International Airport, Northwest Johannesburg, where the money was uncovered   in three suit cases.
The aircraft was said to belong to the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and President Goodluck Jonathan’s confidant, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

Don’t give Joshua visa, ANC youths tell Zuma

The African National Congress Youth League has called on the Jacob Zuma-led South African government not to issue a visa to the General Overseer of the Synagogue of All Nations, Pastor Temitope Joshua.
Joshua had expressed on Sunday his desire to visit South Africa to commiserate with the families of 84 citizens of the country who lost their lives when a building of the church collapsed in Lagos on September 12.
About 115 people died in the tragedy and Joshua had described those who lost their lives as martyrs to the consternation of South Africans.
