Passengers trapped in tube station after workers lock up for the night

A GROUP of passengers found themselves trapped inside a tube station after striking workers locked the door.

The commuters were stranded at South Ruisli in the early hours of this morning when they got off the last Metropolitan Line train to High Wycombe.
When they tried to exit the station just after midnight the unlucky travellers realised they were stuck.
They were left waiting for almost an hour until a worker finally arrived to free them…but not before some plucky passengers attempted a daring escape over a barbed wire fence.
Passenger Beren Reid, 22, said: "The tunnel that goes under the mainline tracks and onto the station concourse had been shut off and padlocked at the point where it joins the underground passageway. "
From there we could see that the exits at the front of the building had also been shut off, and we tried calling out and rattling the gate to get the attention of tube staff but nobody came."
He rang British Transport Police, who told them that an officer would be sent to the rescue, but could take up to 90 minutes.

A villager who is an expert tree climber and has a hairy ‘tail’ is now being worshipped by locals as a monkey god.
Chandre Oraon has a section of hair on the small of his back that he has allowed to grow out, which now looks like a tail.
But rather than shock locals, the strange hair style and his skill at climbing has led to them to hail the 35-year-old as a human form of Hindu god Hanuman.
