APC visits Obasanjo today

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress will visit former President Olusegun Obasanjo today, our correspondent has learnt.
A leader of APC, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent on Friday that some leaders of the party, including some of its governors will meet Obasanjo at his home in Ota, Ogun State.
At the residence of a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, former Head of State and a chief of APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, hinted that the next stop of the party’s leadership in its visits to notable Nigerians would be Obasanjo’s residence.

Presidency moves against defected PDP lawmakers

The Presidency has moved against lawmakers that defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Party on Wednesday.
Saturday naijahforreal learnt that the Presidency had asked the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, to declare the seats of the 37 lawmakers vacant.
It has also asked the electoral body to begin the process of conducting fresh election in the affected lawmakers’ constituencies with a view to replacing them since there is still one more year in the lifespan of the current legislature.

Kwara banks shut as robbery attack rumour spreads

Many commercial banks in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Friday at about 1pm hurriedly closed operations as a rumour of an impending robbery attack filtered into the town.
The move by the banks was seen as a precautionary measure against robbery attack.
One of the security men of one of the banks, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that they got information that armed robbers might raid the banks anytime.

A 28-year-old man, Nonso Egbuzobi, who was recently arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad during a robbery operation in Lagos State, has pleaded with the police to release him, saying he was just an informant and not a member of any robbery gang.
Police authorities had said Egbuzobi and three others were part of a gang that killed three policemen during an ATM robbery at an Access Bank branch in Ayobo, Ipaja area of the state on November 20, 2013.
