Lagos — At least $10 billion (about N1.6 trillion) is lost annually by airlines across the globe to accidents.
But experts say this figure is a far cry to the actual loses because cases in Africa are underreported.

As many as 300 people are feared dead after a ferocious storm and days of heavy floods in Somalia’s northeastern Puntland region, the local government said Wednesday.

“Torrential rains, high wind speeds and flooding has created a state of emergency, with 300 persons feared dead, hundreds others unaccounted for, and countless livestock lost,” the government of the semi-autonomous region said
in a statement.

Keshi: No replacement for Igiebor

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says there will be no replacement called up for injured midfielder Nosa Igiebor.
"We have enough players to play the game so there is no need to invite anyone else."
Keshi however admitted that the loss of the midfielder was an unfortunate setback. "We would have loved to have. Nosa here.
"He is a very good and dedicated player, and we are all disappointed for him that he could not make it.
"But we hope his injury is not too serious and he can get back to playing again very soon," he added.

Nigeria: Governor Fashola - Lagos Requires U.S.$50 Billion for Infrastructure Devt

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State Tuesday put the estimated amount required for infrastructure development of the state in the next 10 years at $50 billion.
This means that Lagos state requires an annual investment in infrastructure of $5 billion in the next 10 years to attain its vision of a megacity.
