Seven years after an unwanted pregnancy forced her to drop out of the University of Ilorin, Aishat Farooq emerges the best graduating student of the Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, reports Temitayo Famutimi
When Aishat Farooq gained admission into the University of Ilorin at 15, to study Zoology, little did she know that she was not going to be an alumnus of the institution. That was in 2003.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has raised the alarm over an alleged plan by the Federal Government to return the Structural Adjustment Programme "through the back door" 24 years after its introduction by the regime of the former dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd) in 1989.
According to ASUU, government should reject "the reintroduction of SAP through the back door".

A 27-year-old female student, Tobechukwu Uzo, was yesterday arraigned before a Surulere Magistrates' Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing N300,000 from her suitor.
The court was told that the accused is an undergraduate at Ecole Supreme Management University in Cotonou,

2 INMATES ESCAPE FROM KOGI PRISON

Two awaiting trial inmates have escaped from Federal Prison in  Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Daily Trust gathered that the inmates escaped when they were taken out of the prison yard to clear bushes.
A source said the inmates who were awaiting trial over criminal offences, are yet to be re-arrested.

    London's Daily Mail reports this morning that Consi Taylor saw the spiders fall from the banana she was halfway through eating after she inspected strange white spots on the fruit's skin.
    The creatures fell on to her kitchen table before dozens of them started running off across the carpet
