Rape of NYSC member: Court frees Osun monarch

 Justice Oyejide Falola of the Osun State High Court sitting in Ikirun on Tuesday discharged and acquitted the Alowa of Ilowa-Ijesa, Oba Adebukola Alli, over a charge of raping an NYSC member.

Delivering judgment, Falola said that the plaintiff, Miss Helen Okpara, failed to tender enough exhibits to convince the court beyond reasonable doubt that she was raped by the monarch.

A 42-year-old housewife, Mrs Omolabake Bashorun, on Tuesday told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos that she caught her husband inside their 60-year-old woman neighbour’s bedroom.

Resist Aregbesola’s plot to Islamise Osun –CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria on Tuesday raised the alarm over alleged plot by Osun State Governor, Mr. Raul Aregbesola, to Islamise the state.
Reacting to the recent decision by the state government to merge some schools, leading to the transfer of some Muslim students with their Christian counterparts in missionary schools, CAN said it was a ploy to silence Christianity in the state.
A statement by the General Secretary of CAN, Dr. Misa Asake, and obtained by The PUNCH in Abuja, described the move as a ploy by Aregbesola to Islamise the state and systematically silent Christians.
It added, “At the appropriate time, we will react seriously.”
If the decision by the state government was not reversed, he vowed that CAN would do all within its powers to resist the merger.

FFK blasts Aviation minister for saying plane crashes are acts of God

Our Aviation minister Mrs Stella Oduah thinks that plane mishaps are an act of God. While fielding questions from state house correspondents on the recent Lagos air crash, Mrs Oduah said;
