AIT now ready to counter sue Tinubu for N100billion


Bola Tinubu's media office released a statement on Monday saying they are set to sue Daar Communications, owners of AIT for what he said was a defamatory content of a documentary aired on Sunday about him on their station. Tinubu asked the TV station to retract the documentary, issue a letter of apology and demanded N20billion as cost of damage done to his reputation.

Popular Nigeria Boxer Bash Ali refuses to leave jail despite meeting bail conditions

Nigerian boxing legend Bash Ali was arrested on Wednesday Feb. 11th in front of a bank in Abuja for constituting public nuisance. He was locked u  and charged to court for the offense (read here). 'I am so sure i will not lose the elections' Pres. Jonathan tells AlJazeera in new interview

In an interview with Al-Jazeera TV which aired yesterday, President Jonathan said that he'll not lose the upcoming Presidential election. He also said the increase in the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria is not as a result of his mishandling of the group and that Boko Haram did not start with him. Speaking about Jega, the president said he's never had any discussions with anyone to remove him. He affirmed that the elections will not be postponed again. President Jonathan sends ministerial-nominees list to Senate for last mintues rush

President Jonathan has sent a list of 8 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and approval. The list which was read to members of the senate this morning by Senate president, David Mark, had names such as Senator Musiliu Obanikoro from Lagos state, Mrs.Patricia Akwashiki (Nasarawa); Mrs. Hauwa’u Lawan (Jigawa) and Prof nicholas Akise Ada (Benue) in it. Others include Col. Augustine Akobundu retd. (Abia); Mr. Fidelis Nwankwo (Ebonyi); Mr. Kenneth Kobani (Rivers) and Senator Joel Ikenya (Taraba). No date has been fixed for the Senate screening of the nominees.

Security operatives surround APC campaign spokesman’s residence

A combined team of security operatives have surrounded the residence of the Director of Media of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organization,  Mallam Garba Shehu.
The operatives who were armed to the teeth, took positions around ‎the house located at area 11, Garki Abuja, as early as 5:35am on Thursday morning.
One of Shehu’s colleagues  at the Atiku Media 0ffice, who pleaded anonymity, called The PUNCH at about 6am.
He said, “Security men have surrounded the residence of our director, Mallam Garba Shehu in Area 11. They came in several vehicles. I cannot make out which of the security services because it is still dark here.
“None of them has said anything about why they are laying siege at his house.”

FG Warns Diplomats Against Interference In Internal Affairs

Following recent remarks by the US Secretary of State, John Kerry and the European Union on the postponement of the general elections, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today Feb. 11th, warned all foreign missions in the country to stop interfering in its internal affairs, particularly its electoral process.
At a meeting with over a hundred heads of missions in Abuja, the Minister of foreign affairs, Amb. Aminu Wali, said information reaching the Federal government indicates that some foreign missions want to interfere in the electoral process and that the federal government will not tolerate such actions. He said interference in Nigeria's internal affairs by foreign envoys is unacceptable...

Hajiya Fati Maitalle Tara, made news recently when she made a personal donation of One Million Naira out of her business savings to General Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign when he visited Kebbi state.
She tells Leadership's YAHYA SARKI why she thought Buhari deserves to win:
The APC Presidential campaign to Kebbi ahead of the 2015 elections witnessed unprecedented turn out in Kebbi state. Thousands of people including married women and children came out and waited for about thirteen hours to catch a glimpse of the party’s presidential flag bearer, Muhammmadu Buhari.
The mammoth crowd gathered at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport and lined the streets all the way to Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, the venue of the campaign rally.

The Boko Haram sect today released three new videos on Youtube (that have since been taken down) showing how a man accused of committing adultery was stoned to death. The sect members also amputated a man's hand for stealing.

Captured Jordanian pilot burnt alive in a cage by ISIS


Oh dear Lord! Why aren't these world powers trying to eliminate ISIS once & for all? The 27 year old Jordanian pilot who was captured by ISIS militants after his warplane crashed while he was conducting airstrikes over Syria in December 2014, has been killed in the most despicable manner.

The terrorists released a video today showing the brutal murder of Lieutenant Moaz al-Kasasbeh. He was burnt alive while locked in a cage. The Jordanian military believe he was killed on Jan. 3rd.

In the footage titled 'Healing the Believers Chest', the militants pour petrol on Moaz, who's wearing an orange jumpsuit, and set him alight. He was burnt alive within minutes.

President Jonathan paid a surprise visit to Maiduguri, Borno state earlier today Jan. 15th where he met and addressed Men and officers of the 7 Division Nigeria Army at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri. He embark on this after serious critism from opposition within and outside Nigeria, for his reluntance to visit the troubled area and tactically withering support from the suffering populace.
