After allegedly targeting people in a middle-class suburb of Rio de Janeiro, the teenager was stopped and stripped by three menwho tied him to the post, leaving him looking like Krazy-8 in the early episodes of Breaking Bad when he was tied up in a basement.
It is believed he had been robbing people in the area of Flamengo.
However, he was overpowered by three men who beat him then tied him up.
Local teacher and artist Yvonne Bezerra de Mello, 66, came to the aide of the unidentified teenager - but not before taking pictures of him and posting them on Facebook .

Ms de Mello, a human rights activist , said she was told about the teenager by a friend and, fearing for his life,went to help him.
He told her that the three men who called themselves the Boondock attacked him were wearing masks and approached him on a motorbike.
Ms de Mello said: "The violence has greatly increased in Flamengo in the last four months.
"I will never allow torture or groups of idiots who call themselves 'vigilantes' to practice these acts."
Firefighters sawed the lock from around his neck and he was taken away in an ambulance.
Police are now trying to trace the teenager down after he arrived at hospital without any documents and left before they could speak with him.
