A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the former deputy governorship candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in Jigawa State, Alhaji Danladi Auyo, has berated former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, over his recent letter to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Chief Auyo said OBJ lacked the credibility to point accusing fingers at the President.
In a statement obtained by SundayTrust in Lagos last week, he accused the
former president of political gimmickry, wondering why he couldn’t have made his grievances known to Jonathan in privacy or deliberate the matter at the forum of former heads of states, instead of the public show he made of it.Chief Auyo said OBJ lacked the credibility to point accusing fingers at the President.

“The letter is nothing but to create political tension in the country. With his calibre, Obasanjo should not be engaging in primordial sentiments.
“The tenure of the former president was characterised by fraud, intimidation and continued harassment of political opponents and even members in the ruling party not on good terms with his administration. The EFCC machinery, selective judgment and intimidation were the weapons he used,” part of Auyo’s statement said.
The APC chieftain maintained that the only way to reduce tension in the polity was for all Nigerians to understand and appreciate one another, devoid of religious, political and ethnic chauvinism.
