Abiola’s Wife Eyes Lagos Guber Seat

One of the wives of the late business mogul and politician, Chief Moshood Abiola. Mrs. Dupe Onitiri Abiola has said she will contest for the position of Lagos State governor come 2015.

She disclose this to NAIJAH FOR REAL during a chat in Lagos, stating that her ambition was to help eradicate poverty in the state and the country as a whole. “My purpose is to eradicate poverty in the country because the prize paid by Mr. Anthony Enahoro, Beko Ransome-Kuti and others couldn’t achieve what we wanted, hence my reason to contest,“ she said.

Abiola, who stated that another reason she was interested in the gubernatorial race was to actualise the struggle of June 12, 1993 presidential election, which everyone acclaimed her husband won but was annulment by the military regime of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd).

“When you start something, you make sure you end it by achieving it. It is just like God promised Israelites He was going to take them to the Promise land, He didn’t stop until they got there. If you want to move the people to the promise land, you don’t have to say because of bad incident, you have to stop the journey, “she said
