MANILA - Have you ever heard of "vaginal kung fu?"
Well, an American sex and relationship expert has recently been travelling around the world to educate people about the benefits of the so-called art form.
In an interview with BuzzFeed published last Thursday, self-described "pleasure savant" Kim Anami said she started the hashtag campaign #ThingsILiftWithMyVagina on Instagram to show how strong a woman's vagina can be.
On her account, Anami has been posting images of her in various countries lifting objects such as a surfboard, exotic fruits, and actual weights, by tying them to a jade egg she inserts inside her.
She claims that having the strength to lift objects using her private muscles makes for better sex and orgasms, among other things.
"I want every woman to know that she, too, can shoot ping pong balls from her vagina," she told BuzzFeed. "It’s not just a skill set reserved for some special Thai vaginas."
On her own website, Anami wrote that "genital strengthening was considered a necessary life skill" around five thousand years ago.
"In the ancient Taoist system of sexual practices—where sex was seen as medicine and a pathway to enlightenment—pelvic weight lifting was an essential part of their health regime," she added.
Back in January 2014, Anami's YouTube video
breaking down the benefits of having strong vaginal muscles went viral.
As of writing, her unconventional advice has almost one million views.

#thingsiliftwithmyvagina The LA Series With donuts. These gluten-free, coconut-sugar sweetened, organic donuts-suspended from the depths of my vagina-are from Cafe Gratitude. The Maple and Coconut Bacon ones are insane. #glutenfree #healthyeating #vegan #sugarfree #coconuts #thingsiliftwithmyvagina #vaginalkungfu |
#thingsiliftwithmyvagina The LA Series. Yo! I lift weights too. With my vagina! At Muscle Beach in Venice, lifting with the Muscle Up Kings. They were super impressed with my mad skillz. If you didn't know, the world record for vaginal weight lifting is 31 pounds, held by Tatiana Kozhevnikova, from Russia. P.S. You might be (justifiably) distracted by the eye candy in this shot-don't miss the weight between my legs. #thingsiliftwithmyvagina #vaginalkungfu #vaginalweightlifter |
